Vision
Witheridge Parish Hall will provide warm, welcoming and inclusive facilities for a wide range of social and recreational activities, which are well promoted and easily accessible responding to the needs of the local community.
Aims
- Seeks to have negligible impact on the environment, exploring sustainable solutions when funds allow to improve, upgrade and replace systems and processes.
- Provide a community space which is available for hire online, which is actively promoted.
- Seek proactively to identify opportunities for activities to meet the needs of the local community and develop relationships to encourage the hire of the Hall for these purposes.
- Support hirers of the Hall through promoting their activities through our social media channels to encourage community participation.
- Optimise the use of the Hall by hirers and encourage a variety of activities including training and skills development opportunities.
- Ensure that the running of the Hall meets all legal requirements and that procedures are adapted to comply with changing legislation.
- Ensure the Hall is professionally run and easily accessible to all members of the community with feedback opportunities to encourage improvement and development.
- Ensure the outside areas of the Hall are fully utilised to maximise opportunities to meet the needs of the community, e.g. community gardening, increased opportunities for young people and those with mobility issues to enjoy the space, multi-use games area, seating. Consider upgrading security systems.
- Run the Hall and manage its ongoing maintenance costs to ensure its long-term sustainability.
- Support and encourage local charitable organisations.
- Raise grant funding where necessary to develop and maintain the Hall.
